Lights, camera, action - the 2024 shortlist has just been announced!
Chosen from over 8,400 films by more than 5,000 filmmakers across 148 countries and territories, the celebrated films encompass a diverse variety of topics representing the six categories: Fiction, Non-Fiction, Environment, Animation, Student, and Future Format.
From poignant documentaries that give viewers a fascinating glimpse into the world around them to wonderful stories told through interesting techniques and angles - this year’s filmmakers showcased unique perspectives and approaches to the art of filmmaking.
The international shortlist of 30 will soon be flown to Los Angeles, California. The filmmakers will take part in the major program held at Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City. The event involves a four-day workshop program during which shortlisted creators will gain exclusive insight into filmmaking from leading voices in the industry. Topics will include: physical production, animation, legal, CGI, innovation at Sony, pitching process, sound and music mixing, post-production, talent agencies, TV and studio tours.
The program culminates in a black-tie Awards ceremony at the Sony Pictures Studios during which the six category winners will be revealed. Watch this space on 30 May!
