Blink
Directed by Spenser Cohen
American film screenwriter, executive producer, and director Spenser Cohen presents this suspense-driven horror short following a paralyzed woman’s attempts to alert a nurse of a inhuman, sinister force through blinking her eyes. At 10-minutes long, from the first few seconds you’ll find yourself hooked.
Snatched
Written/Directed by Michael Schwartz
As part of Hulu’s Huluween season, Snatched is definitely a 2022 take on the classic Invasion of the Body Snatchers. After coming out as gay, a 15-year-old boy must fight for his life when his parents react with otherworldly acceptance. Make sure you check out Hulu’s whole Bite Size Halloween archive dedicated to short films with a spooky twist.
The Fisherman
Directed by Jacob Arbittier
If you thought the mask in the Scream film series was chilling, just wait until you watch The Fisherman. With a young girl, her father and the frightening masked killer, this short doesn’t go where you expect it to. At just over four minutes long, you’ll be relieved the terrifying short isn’t longer.
Paranormal Investigators
Markus Meedt
For those who need a lighter option to watch this Halloween, Paranormal Investigators is fun, rather spooky and full of British humour. In a world where ghosts and ghouls aren't a matter of folklore and legend but more everyday pests in need of control, the 13-minute short follows Abby on her first day as intern at BPIT - The British Paranormal Investigation Team. Throughout her inititation into the group, she has to face off flying dolls, witches as well as jealous co-workers. There is also a suspicious amount of moving furniture involved.
Lost Dog
Director Jacob Arbittier
Another ultra short short, this three-minute film sees a young man help a friend to find his lost dog and directly led into his trap. Shot in a style similar to The Blair Witch Project, it’s the blurring of the boundaries between fictional film and documentary that will have you on the edge of your seat.
